The food is good and I’m a regular but everytime I order food and it’s delivered theres gravy/grease all over the bags.. my counter is always messy with the food everytime normally I wouldn’t write a review but this morning with my ackee and salt fish and the brown stew chicken back was sooooooo bad by the time I got done cleaning the boxes and my counter top I wasn’t even in the mood to eat . I don’t know if it’s too much gravy being put in the box or couriers that deliver for you guys don’t know how to handle the food aside from that the food is pretty good I get mostly breakfast here and i think it’s safe to say I’ve had everything breakfast wise and they’re all pretty good…. I order from here every Friday and sometimes on Saturday. Anytime I order the food is always amazing and my order is never messed up. The older gentleman that delivers the food is amazing he is always so polite. If you ever having a bad day and he is the delivery man your mood will
Definitely change for the better! I don’t know the female name that always takes my order but I know who she is when I hear her voice because she is very polite compared to some of the other women in there. She never give attitude and she takes her time when it comes to repeating your order and making sure she got everything!! They are honestly the reason I keep coming back because customer service goes a long way and both does an amazing job at it!

We were looking for some good Caribbean food since our usual place, which is closer to where we live, was closed. We were in Clifton and somehow this place popped up in our search. We decided to take the 20 minute drive (almost 30 minutes if we're driving from home) hoping it wouldn't disappoint. We're so glad we took the trip because the food was amazing!
The service there was excellent and the ladies taking our order were very polite and super friendly. We were wary because of some of the reviews we read, but it was in fact the opposite. We were greeted when we walked in and felt very welcomed.
Would definitely recommend this place and we'll be making a trip every once in a while for the amazing food.

I have never been to the restaurant, it has always been thru Uber Eats, I've ordered almost everything on their menu and everything taste fresh and has a lot of flavor, after having the Beef Patties and Mac & Cheese now I see why those items are always sold out on their menu, ITS SOOOO GOOOD, For the first timers try their Curry Chicken, Oxtail or Curry Goat............BADASS DISHES!! I LOVE YOU GUYS (TROPICAL DELIGHT) and as long you guys are open I'm keep ordering from you and management are so friendly, they will call you if the item is sold out, I don't know who picks up the phone when I call, but she is so nice and her customer service is on point!

Tropical Delight serves authentic, absolutely finger licking Jamaican food. Kay is very nice and professional. The delivery drivers are always pleasant and professional as well. My family order from their catering menu all the time for our family get-togethers. My favorite is the curry goat, oxtail, curry chicken, red snapper- hahaha almost everything! My husband loves their fried chicken. Their food is consistent, always delicious, well seasoned, not too salty, and the managers and staff are nice people. There is no Jamaican restaurant within close proximity to where I live, so I’m happy they deliver in my area.

We had a great experience with our catering order from Tropical Delight! The manager was courteous and replied back promptly, accommodating our requests and even made suggestions so we wouldn’t over order on sides. Everything was delicious, a good portion size and was delivered to the home fresh, hot and on time! The bday party had over 75 guests and we still had enough food for guests to fix a plate to take home. Some of the crowd favorites were the jerk chicken, curry goat, oxtail, and the jerk pineapple glazed salmon! My clients & their guests were so happy…we can’t wait to have our next event and try the food truck!

Tropical Delight is a wonderful, tasteful and authentic Jamaican restaurant! Each server ensures greeting their customers with a bright smile and a warm and welcoming spirit! The atmosphere and authenticity of the restaurant although established in the states offers the remembrance of the beautiful island of Jamaica! Tropical Delights food is delicious and consistent! In my opinion, their Jerk Chicken is by far the best and most unique tasting jerk chicken in the city! This restaurant is definitely a 10 out of 10 and I highly recommend dining there! If ever asked, let them know Drae Divine sent you!

My husband and I ordered for the first time. We did not know what to expect since we are new to the area. Surprisingly enough we were taken aback. The food arrived quickly and the food was absolutely delicious. We ordered stew pork, jerk pork and Mac and cheese. My husband and I enjoyed the food. The Mac and cheese was very good it had a unique taste but in a good way. We would definitely order again and try other dishes along with the Mac and cheese (best I’ve had so far). We are two happy customers!!!!!!!

ordered the curried goat and oxtails. also, wanted to get a side of plantains but they ran out. with that said, the restaurant called right away and offered me a beef patty instead and wow! am i glad they ran out of plantains?! it was all so delicious, with the right amount of spice and reasonable price. will definitely order again! It really is a solid place. Not in the best area of town especially if you are a clean person who appreciates the suburban life. But you won't regret taking the trip here

I ordered delivery from this place and had to write a review - the food tasted delicious, fresh, and full of love! I ordered the jerk chicken with rice and cabbage, all of which were super yummy. The chicken was tender, juicy, and had a lovely amount of heat! I also ordered a side of maduros, which were splendid as well. I love restaurants like these, where you can feel the heart and soul in everything on the menu! I will be ordering again in the future.

First thing, forget the haters reviewing here. I called twice asking about my delivery and got straight answers and apology and driver showed up a little late. Driver was cool as a fan, good people. The food, now I got one regret-ate all 3 beef patties and a spinach one (which is perfectly spiced) and eyeballing the oxtail. Nah, had the oxtail and it’s got it-mouthfeel, that mmm of marrow, yeah like det. Much love.

They hooked me up! Delicious food; good portions. I usually get oxtail from Jamaican restaurants. I'd say it's one of the top of the restaurants I've eaten from.
That said, oxtail is generally an expensive meat to buy and can be hard to cook right. So, it can be difficult to find places like this that give you a decent amount. And I've orderd from them a few times, so I can say their potion size is generally consistent from what I've seen.

Excellent food and service! We had the curry chicken, stewed beef, festival and beef patty. All were delicious. We were pleasantly surprised that the "small" meals came in large portions (we're excited to have leftovers).
I also need to add that the staff is incredibly nice. From the owner to the delivery driver, everyone we interacted with was so kind and gracious. We'll definitely be ordering from here again.

I’ve ordered the oxtail dinner several times & most say it’s the greatest dish Ever. Believe me I’ve had this dish with my friends from Dominica & they can’t touch the flavors in this meal. The owner is patient & understanding without knowing I have a mobility issue worked with my personal request for packaging “extra” oxtails for another friend!!! This meal is my preference and “you’ll missing a true delight” if you don’t try this meal.

THE BEST FOOD IS ALWAYS ON THE MENU!! This is a must go each week because the food is that good. It is worth the wait if you are looking for the best variety of food (both Caribbean and American). My personal favorite is the soup... All of them! I can't get enough. I shed a tear (inside) if I go there late and the soup is finished. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Cant believe I haven't reviewed this restaraunt yet. My fav the chef knows what he is doing BBQ chicken is AMAZING.The large is such a good portion my husband and I share and there is still some left over the only con is that there are way more desserts and small Jamaican stuff in the actual place than online.Big Up Tropical Delight!

This place and Ming’s Kitchen next door are actual community gems. There’s not many things in Paterson that give the city life but tropical delight is a local hot spot where you can find everyone from Jamaican people eating good authentic cuisine to people who have roots elsewhere dipping into a different cultures food.

10/10. The absolute best Jamaican food spot here in Jersey I’ve tried so far. The food is so well seasoned and I appreciate the good portion sizing for the price that is paid. I love the oxtails with rice and peas and the beef patties are a MUST buy. If I can, I’d probably eat from here 3 times a week. Thank you!

My boyfriend and I drove through on our way back from Philadelphia and stopped at this location for lunch, we ordered curry goat, oxtail and jerk pork. We came early but decided to wait for the rice and peas to finish cooking to have with our meals. We have eaten at many many Jamaican style restaurants and I have to say this was the best food we have had so far from all over the states, it was like actually being in Jamaica. Soul food for sure. Little to say, I had to go back and order more curry goat and oxtail to have when we got home because we knew what we ordered wouldn’t last us all the way back to Vermont, and the portions were a great amount, they surely didn’t lack in any way. The staff were pleasant and I wish I remembered her name, but one of the nice staff even gave me great information about local grocery shopping in the area because I told her we travel so far for certain items to have at home. She took time to write me out some local grocery stores with addresses. Thank you for the wonderful service and absolutely lovely food. Love and appreciation truly went into making this food. This will be a stop we make again in the near future! Thank you all for the wonderful experience. 🥰🥰🥰

Best Jamaican restaurant out there!! I moved out of jersey over two years ago and no Jamaican restaurant comes close to this one here. Every time I visit Jersey, this is the first place I go to because the food is amazing. Forever a loyal customer!!! 🫶🏽

Amazing! I have been a patron for years but have never taken the time to let everyone know how amazing the food is. Very authentic and delicious. Portions are a great size and the food is always fresh. Tons of variety, my absolute go to for stewed pork or fried chicken.

Great restaurant, great service and great food. Server was patient and helpful, even when my Mom and I kept changing our order lol. The fried chicken and curry goat were especially good. 100% recommend for anyone looking for a Local Jamaican restaurant. Makes me miss home even more☺️
